How can I update my zip code and travel distance?

Update your location and travel radius to see more job requests near you.

March 30, 2026

At the top of your Request page, you can change:

Zip code – This defaults to the zip code you registered with.
Travel radius – How far you’re willing to go for a job. Default is 60 miles. If you pick more than 60 miles, you can see jobs up to 80 miles away.

Pro tip: Increasing your radius even a little can unlock many more jobs. Don’t limit yourself to just 5–10 miles!

Your settings are saved automatically on your device. You don’t need to update them every time you log in.

Updating zip code and radius only changes what you see on the Request page.
It does NOT update your notification area.
If you move far away (for example, from Northern California to Southern California), update your primary zip code under Notifications to keep receiving alerts.

Q: How can I increase my working area?

Update your zip code and expand your travel radius. Even a small increase can show many more jobs.

Q: Why am I not getting notifications for jobs posted on the site?

Request page zip code and radius settings don’t change your notification area. Make sure your primary zip code under Notifications is correct.

Q: I’m not getting any requests. Is this normal?

This can happen if there are few jobs near your zip code or your radius is too small. Expanding your radius often helps.

Q: A school I like isn’t posting anymore. What should I do?

Some schools post less often. Expanding your radius can help you find nearby schools with similar jobs.

Q: Why can’t I see certain requests in the app?

Jobs are filtered by your zip code, radius, and other preferences. Adjusting these settings will show more requests.
