We’ll walk you through onboarding and answer any questions you have live.

In-person

Save your spot to meet the recruiting team, get your Live Scan done on-site, and complete your onboarding with the Swing team. We’ll be available from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Choose a date + arrival time that works for you between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm; you won’t need to stay for the entire event.

FAQs

Do I have to sign up with Swing to keep substituting at Lynwood?

Yes. Going forward, all substitute assignments at Lynwood Unified are managed through Swing Education. To keep working in our schools, complete Swing’s quick online application to get set up.

I already substitute for Lynwood — what do I need to do?

As a current Lynwood substitute, your transition is a top priority. Swing will email you with simple steps to get set up so there’s no gap in your ability to work. Keep an eye on your inbox (and your spam/promotions folder, since it’s from a new sender).

Should I onboard with Swing if I'm not a credentialed teacher?

Yes! We welcome all Lynwood substitutes to onboard with Swing, including those who are not credentialed teachers. You can still complete the onboarding process and access assignments you’re eligible for.

How do I receive teaching assignments?

Assignments are posted directly in the Swing app. You can browse and accept jobs based on your preferences, including grade level, school type, assignment length, and commute distance. You choose which jobs you want to take.

Can Swing substitute teachers work at other districts besides Lynwood USD?

Yes. Swing Education substitutes get priority access to Lynwood Unified School District assignments, plus the option to pick up substitute teaching jobs at other nearby California districts once cleared.

How and when do I get paid?

Swing pays weekly via direct deposit.

What is Swing Education and how does it work?

Swing connects substitute teachers with teaching opportunities at partner schools and districts through one easy-to-use app. Once approved, you can browse available jobs, accept positions that fit your schedule, manage upcoming jobs, and get paid weekly.

Does Swing take a cut from my pay?

No. The pay rate you see before accepting an assignment is the amount you’ll earn for that job. Swing partners with schools and districts directly and pays substitute teachers weekly.

How long does onboarding take?

Account setup timelines vary by state and credential requirements, but many substitute teachers complete the process within a few weeks. Our team helps guide you through each step, including background checks, credentialing requirements, and required paperwork.

What schools does Swing work with?

Swing partners with public school districts, charter schools, and private schools across multiple states. Available assignments vary by region and school needs, giving substitute teachers access to a variety of classroom opportunities in one place. You’ll be able to see our school partners throughout the setup process.
